Germany had a monster second period, scoring four goals and killing off as many penalties, en route to a one-sided 6-0 win over Kazakhstan in the final game of their best-of-three relegation series.

Lukas Reichel and Louis Brune scored second-period goals to break a scoreless game and send Germany on the way to a critical 4-0 win over Kazakhstan in the first of a best-of-three relegation series. 

Facing the grim prospect of having to play a best-of-three relegation series against Kazakhstan with a loss, Russia stepped up and defeated Germany this afternoon by a 6-1 score.

Canada returned to form and played an intense, puck-pressure game, defeating Germany 4-1 to move into a first-place tie in Group B with the United States. The win also guaranteed both Canada and the United States a spot in the quarter-finals on Thursday.

Playing the Czechs for the first time in six years, the Germans did what they did last time - defeated their opponent. Today's score was a thrilling 4-3 count.

Playing for the second time in as many nights, the U.S. put its tough loss to Canada behind it and skated to a solid 6-3 win over Germany tonight in Ostrava.
