The well-oiled machine that is the Swedish national team rolled into Ostrava tonight and dominated the hosts Czechs for 60 minutes, playing flawless hockey, scoring timely goals, and doing what they do best – winning.

Canada used a record-tying four power-play goals in the first period to propel it to a 7-2 win over the Czech Republic before a packed and wild sold-out Ostravar Arena.

Cole Caufield scored his first goal of the tournament at 3:14 of overtime to give the Americans a 4-3 win over the Czechs. The win leaves the Czechs' playoff hopes in doubt until tomorrow's games.

Playing the Czechs for the first time in six years, the Germans did what they did last time - defeated their opponent. Today's score was a thrilling 4-3 count.

The Czech Republic opened the 2020 World Junior Championship on home ice with a thrilling 4-3 win over Russia. The Czechs surrendered leads of 2-0 and 3-2, but once ahead 4-3 it got the job done in a tense third for the win.
