Canada will play in the 2023 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women's World Championship final after their overtime win over Finland, 3-2.

For a few minutes, Team Finland was out of the medal hunt, but a strong finish and the determination of the team’s star players carried them to the semifinal, thanks to their 3-2 win over Czechia.

Sweden continued their strong play in the tournament, and this time, they even got the result they wanted. A convincing 6-1 win over Finland.

There were glimpses of hope for the Finns, but in the end, not enough. Team USA scored eight times and after their strong start, the win was never in doubt.

Canada was determined to leave nothing to chance in their opening game of the tournament. They outshot, outscored, and outworked Finland, scored six goals and bagged a convincing 8-0 win.
