The 2026 IIHF WMIV Championship originally scheduled to take place in Kuwait from April 12-18, has been cancelled for the 2026 Championship season. Following a decision by the IIHF Council, the event will not be relocated or postponed to a later date.
 
The decision was made after careful consideration of the evolving circumstances in the region, with the safety and security of all participants remaining the top priority.
