And...we’re back! Fans in host Switzerland and around the world have been awaiting the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship with bated breath. Coming off a thrilling Winter Olympics in Milan, who will dominate the rinks in Zurich and Fribourg? Our first Power Rankings feature Canada – seeking its first world title since 2023 and some revenge for Milan’s silver medal – in first place with a powerhouse roster of NHLers. Sitting second, the Swiss have loaded up with many of the big names that helped them capture silver at the last two Men’s Worlds, as they hope to take the final step this year. The never-to-be-underestimated Finns, who won Olympic bronze, also look like bona fide contenders in third place. The road to gold starts now!
